The Tea House on Los Rios was born from the passions of my grandparents, Allan and Claudia Niccola. Over twenty-five years ago, they embarked on a mission to infuse tranquility into modern life through the art of tea. The concept was simple yet profound – to offer respite from the daily grind and rekindle connections with loved ones over a soothing cup of tea.

The realization that I am blessed to be able to pursue what I love and continue a legacy is something that constantly humbles me. It’s easy to become engrossed in the day-to-day challenges and triumphs, but reminding myself of the fortune I’ve been given instills a deep sense of gratitude. The Niccola family quickly recognized the significance of creating a place where people could forge meaningful relationships. They envisioned a special, serene setting where guests could enjoy each other's company.
However, if I were to pinpoint the most pivotal lesson among them, it would undoubtedly be the profound significance of maintaining a sense of gratitude and humility as I navigate this path. Originally a quaint cottage, The Tea House was lovingly restored by the Niccola family in the 1990s. At the time it was a legal requirement to live on the property to have a business on Los Rios Street. Allan and Claudia Niccola purchased an 80-ton, two-story Victorian house and had it moved from Camino Del Avion to its current location directly behind The Tea House. Grown and harvested from the Kagoshima prefecture in Japan, this traditional steamed and pan dried green tea is known for its light color, smooth body and reasonable depth. A pleasant and approachable green tea that is perfect for everyday consumption. An exquisite blend of black and green tea leaves, perfumed with Jasmine and accented with blue cornflower petals. This tea is noted for its seductive, citrusy, bergamot flavor, uplifting aromas and medium body. While we have grown a great amount over the past couple of years, there is still room for growth, and to grow takes money. We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Owning and operating your own small business is never an easy road, but it is very rewarding. I am often not only the front of house manager, but depending on what is needed, I can be washing dishes, decorating a cake, filing sales taxes, and serving tables.
